Seorang anak lelaki miskin. Ia sangat lapar,tapi tak punya uang. Anak itu memutuskan mengetuk pintu sebuah rumah untuk meminta makanan.

Namun keberaniannya lenyap saat pintu dibuka oleh seorang gadis muda. Anak itu tidak jadi meminta makanan, ia hanya meminta segelas air.

Gadis itu tahu, anak ini pasti lapar. Maka, ia membawakan segelas besar susu.

Berapa harga segelas susu ini? " tanya anak lelaki ini "

Ibu mengajarkan kami, jangan minta bayaran atas perbuatan baik kami. " jawab si gadis muda itu "

Aku berterima kasih dari hati yang paling dalam. ! " balas anak lelaki "

Sekian tahun berlalu..

Gadis itu tumbuh menjadi wanita dewasa dan mengalami sakit kronis..

Dokter di kota kecilnya angkat tangan. Ia dibawa ke kota besar, dimana terdapat dokter spesialis.

Dokter Howard Kelly dipanggil untuk melakukan pemeriksaan.

Pada saat mendengar nama kota asal wanita itu, terbersit pancaran aneh dimata dokter tersebut.

Bergegas ia turun dari kantornya di lantai atas menuju kamar wanita tersebut.

Dalam balutan baju putih kedokterannya, ia langsung mengenali wanita itu.

Setelah melalui perjuangan panjang, akhirnya wanita itu bisa disembuhkan.

Wanita itu menerima amplop tagihan RS dalam ketakutan. Ia tak akan mampu membayar, meski dicicil seumur hidup. Dengan tangan bergetar, ia membuka amplop itu, dan menemukan catatan dipojok atas tagihan...
